The Peipsimaa Heritage Centre (former Peipsimaa Visitor Centre) is located at the heart of the Lake Peipus Area in a historical one-street village of Russian Old Believers in Kolkja village, Tartu County. The purpose of the Peipsimaa Heritage Centre is to keep the local traditional handicraft skills alive and to develop the unique area of Russian Old Believers as a tourist destination. The centre is located at a former house of Russian Old Believers built at the end of the 19th century.

The aim of the Heritage Centre is to show how these Russian Old Believers lived and to introduce their craft culture. The guest can buy handicrafts made by the local people, or even participate in the workshops and learn woodblock printing on textiles or gold-plating accessories.

In the summer season, the Aunt Šura Café is open, offering tea and delicious pies. Bicycle rental is also open. Of course, the Heritage Centre offers information about the entire Peipus region.

This is fun place for everyone – whether you are celebrating your birthday here, or just visiting.
